ROMANCE.WAS.BORN

MBFWA 2013

Fashion Blogger Bryan Boy said it best on Twitter last night, “Romance Was Born: Extreme Hallucinogenic Magic Mushroom Situation.”

Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett are never one to sit back and be driven by the trends – they create them.
This MBFW show was no exception.

With genius Mark Vassallo on duty as creative director for the show, how could you not expect something spectacular. The candy coloured, bowl hair cut inspired hair pieces, rosy cheeked, mardi gras style face painted make up (hello fake eyelashes) and bold prints made sure that every model walking down the runway truly ‘popped.’ It would appear it was like being on a ecstasy induced trip (I can only assume this is the right terminology).

My favourite piece for the show? I honestly don’t think I can choose – perhaps the sequinned jumpsuit… or the 60’s inspired daisy yellow mini dress with Little Bo Peep-esque bib… or the flared printed pants?
There are just too many cosmic genius pieces of fashion that will have you standing out on the side walk (without looking like you have raided your nieces costume cupboard - wigs excluded).
