STYLE.CUES.

TAKING NOTES
I have to say, I love Leandra Medine of Man Repeller.
I actually don't think her style repels men at all (but maybe that's because I am a girl?)
For Summer, I am going to be taking major style cues from her - boyfriend jackets with short shorts, skirts with crisp white shirts, injecting colour pieces with my whites and getting some print t-shirts into my life. She makes everything look so simple. I can guarantee when I try to make these looks my own, I am bound to go wrong somewhere...
First trial happens this Saturday so stay tuned. This could get awkward.
Of course, I am hoping for success.

(I think her secret is don't take things too seriously - everything looks like too much fun!)

HARDEN.UP.

BLACK ON BLACK
You can always toughen up an outfit with some black accessories.
Nothing like giving a bit of grunge when you are channelling festival chic or all over denim.
I have also become a major fan of the cap (think baseball, not trucker) - it's the easiest way to conceal bad hair days. Not loving the cap? Try the Fedora - it's a little less 'Baller' and a little more polished.
Don't know how to work a scarf into your outfit? Tie it around your bag (this Alexander Wang beauty would work perfectly) and let it sit pretty.
Featured from left to right (clockwise)
Alexander Wang The Emile textured leather tote £773
Alexander McQueen Skull-print silk-chiffon scarf £165
Stella McCartney wool baseball cap £180
Nicholas Kirkwood + Erdem printed silk Chelsea boots £680

ES-SKORTED.

SKORT.
Skort - the trend taking Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring by storm around the world.
It's not a skirt, it's not a pair of shorts.
You can run up stairs, kick your legs around and remain lady-like so to speak. There won't be any flashing your knickers in these babies as your hidden shorts conceal what appears to be a skirt.
Sorry boys - I know this is deceptive, but hey - you get to be comfortable so why can't we?
There are so many ways to wear the skort. Try it dressed down with converse and a sport luxe tee/ denim shirt or dress them up with a pair of heels (lace up of course).
Zara is the go-to place to find your skort - can't select a colour? Buy them all! This will become your staple wardrobe item, trust me.

FEELINGS.

WEDNESDAY INSPIRATION
Sometimes there is nothing I love more than trawling through Google trying to work out exactly what I feel like wearing, taking style tips and trying to put my mood into a mood board x album of disjointed images.
This is my inspiration mid week - amongst the clutter and chaos of work, I want to be swept away. I want to wear a broad brim hat, take the time to paint (and grow) my nails and learn to fishtail braid my hair.
Sadly, I have to pay the bills somehow - so while I dream of these beautiful things above, Summer is another day closer.

On putting this together, I found the divine picture of Daul Kim (RIP) from RUSSH Magazine - she was so beautiful and ethereal. Still one of my favourite photo shoots to date.

GET.LOUD.

BRIGHTS
Lazy Oaf is not a brand to sport if you’re not into wearing your heart (or should I say louder than life personality) on your sleeve.
This is the craziest label around town and with numerous collaborations under their belt, they are in full swing.
These candy colour, pop inspired campaign images are from their recent collection with Nasty Gal (a match made in fashion heaven). This is like the 80's on steroids! Watermelon pants? Awesome!
While I am an advocate of black and more black, these wild and wacky prints are making me wish summer would come a little faster.
Honestly, with a tan (real or faux) these colours would make anyone smile! Add a margarita, oversize sunglasses, pigtail plaits and you’re set.
STYLE TIP: DON’T BE SHY!
