STYLE.STALKER.

HARPING ON.
My favourite blogger of the moment Sara Donaldson of Harper and Harley always gets it right. Despite what the title says, no I am not a stalker but merely a style stalker. And yes, I am harping on about it.

She brings simple combinations together, mixing staple items with a statement piece to truly make it stand out. Talk about wanting to raid her closet - from what I can see, it would be heaven! Josh Goot, Dion Lee, Nicholas, Lover - you name it - it's all there.
These are by far my favourite looks that I have seen over the past year.

It is slowly becoming one of those dangerous ventures to look on Harper and Harley to see what has been uploaded because 99.9% of the time I end up googling items that I can’t afford and dabbling in some unnecessary online shopping.

Everything looks so effortless and that is why it works so well.

With that hair, that job (Marketing for Mania Mania) and that blog – Sara Donaldson has got it going on. At my age of 23, she would be one very happy girl.

Check out her blog and give in to the gorgeous clothes – Harper and Harley

3 WORDS. WEDDING IN SUMMER.
I had no idea what I was going to wear to a wedding at the beginning of March which is to be held by the seaside. The issue being either a. it would be blowing a gale and I would freeze to death or b. it would be stinking hot, no wind and I would be fighting the elements to reach for numerous glasses of champagne.

I have loved this dress from day one. After seeing it recently on my favourite blogger Harper and Harley I thought I needed in my life. Problem being - no one had it left in my size. Until now. I happened to be googling it (just to stare at it really) and up pops online fashion store t h r e a d b a r e. The dress was before my eyes and in the perfect size, awaiting me to click 'Add to Shopping Cart.' And I did. Is that fate or what?

So the ultimate wedding guest dress is currently on its way to me (and I say I don't get any luck!) I haven't rocked the peplum before but this lightweight and floaty number perfectly balanced out with tee sleeves and a subtle floral print screams perfection.

What is your ideal wedding guest outfit? I need ideas for accessories now, so help!

SKATER.SKIRT.

EMBOSSED.
So this is one of my new purchases from my weekend away in Sydney.
All I can say is - this is not something that I would normally purchase.
I stepped into Topshop (hurry up and come to Adelaide) and as I walked past this skirt, something told me to try it on. Despite alarm bells going off due to previous attempts to make this skater style of skirt flatter my figure, this fit like a gem. It was like Cinderella and her missing shoe.

I've got a hens this weekend and I'm thinking this teamed with a simple white Bassike tee and my Tony Bianco or Country Road heels will look perfect. Not too dressy yet definitely not too casual. For another childhood story reference, like Goldilocks and the Three Bears - it was just right.
I almost feel a bit... older when I wear this? Is it something about the fabric being embossed perhaps?

HORIZONTAL.

SEEING STRIPES.
Who said that you can't mix sportswear with everyday wear and tear?
These Running Bare sports leggings are equally fit for the streets as they are the treadmill - with a shine that makes them leather look worthy, gold zips at the back of the leg and a streamline fit, they are perfect for layering.
I've layered mine with this bright and sailor worthy lime and white stripe 'Biggest Mistake' tunic by Cameo the Label. It's so comfortable that I own it in three colours - is that excessive?
I'm never one to do leggings as pants (sorry girls, but a midriff top and leggings should never go together) but I think this is just everyday comfort. My golden rule: If you plan on wearing leggings, your top should far exceed the length of the waist band. Simple. Why lunch in jeans you can't breathe in if you don't have to?

I may have gone colour crazy here because I simply threw on my pink rayban aviators on the way out the door and chucked on my favourite new Tony Bianco heels. Plus, being the new watch girl that I am, I threw on this bright orange Juicy Couture watch. At least no one can lose me in the crowd.

C & M AW13

'A LIFE LESS ORDINARY'
Camilla and Marc's diffusion line C&M has got me wrapped around its little finger with this perfect balance of varsity cool and high street chic.

The only bomber jacket I have purchased to date is my gold foiled Isabel Marant jacket, which I practically sleep with to make sure nothing happens to it, but the C & M 'Dominic' bomber just released out of this collection is next on my wish list. The faux leather arms, the perfect C & M discreet symbol (not screaming Team B or University Club or something equally as tacky) and the simple colour combination makes this jacket a winner this Autumn/Winter.

While I finish drooling over the jacket, I also take note of the clean cut coats, slouchy jumpers (hello favourites) embellishments and use of grey marle/navy and khaki - I think this could just be my 'go-to' colour palate for Winter. It's murky, casual and looks great with a faux Winter tan.

This is also a time I cry that I can't pull off printed pants - those Valentine's Day worthy heart pants just scream for a plain white tee and connies for the weekend. Note to self: whip legs into shape ASAP.

Do I need to say anything about the baseball cap or the use of double denim and leather? It's clear this was lust worthy from the get go.
While on one side I'm craving a hot dog, large diet coke and foam finger for all the sporty get up, my other side craves coffee and a danish to prep up the fresh coats and perfectly prim shorts.

Decisions. What will you be wearing this Winter?
Ps: Can someone please point me in the direction of polka dot stockings? How cute!

POP

NEON POP
I don't think I could be more addicted to this Sportsgirl vest if I tried. This Sportsgirl number has everything on offer - a slight quilting (but not so much you look like a snow bunny), an amazing splatter pattern that resembles something I painted back at school, a deep hood to bury my face in when it starts getting colder and a set of pockets for when I don't know what to do with my hands. I am also a huge fan of the neoprene/scuba fabric and a good cap sleeve... sleeveless ain't really my thing.

I think I was attempting my version of Sporty Luxe with my pop of neon and this gorgeous Hugo Boss watch. Note to self: I am quickly becoming a big watch person - who knew telling the time could be so chic?
Farewell iPhone time and oven clock.

I know - it's all American crap- blah blah blah. I don't care. Valentine's Day is a day to get gifts and to show someone you care. We've all got a bit of cupid in us - I know you secretly await a bunch of roses, a box of chocolates or a secret love note.

WATER.COLOUR.

COLOUR BOMB.
It's about that time of year where the days get slightly cooler at night and I start considering my Winter attire.
Cue jumper over dress combination.

As you may know - I'm not really a pants type of person. I don't often do jeans and I can't pull off the print pant and tee look like I would have liked.
Step in Sportsgirl with this amazing techni-coloured mini t-shirt dress (my heart flutters) that is comfortable, tres cute and trans-seasonal. Whether this is teamed with a denim jacket, blazer or this ASOS knit number, there isn't one combination that doesn't work. Perfection.
The one great thing about this dress is that even if you don't feel like stepping out in heels, it looks casual cool with some thrown on connies and a backpack. That's my kind of dressing.
