CHRISTMAS.TIME.BITCHES

Christmas is my favourite time of year.
Who doesn't love the sound of Christmas music?
Or watching Home Alone when Macaulay Culkin was still innocent?
Santa hats make me happy, as does a gingerbread house.
Who doesn't love waking up on Christmas day knowing that you have the whole day to eat whatever you want and not feel guilty?
Christmas makes me think of holly, candy canes and the annual trip to sit on Santas lap for a snap and to explain of your extended wish list.
Hope you all have a good week,
an even better Christmas
and be super Merry.

...and if you can't, just watch this.
It makes me laugh.
God, Lindsay Lohan is cool.

STEAL.MY.SUNSHINE

The song by Len said it all. Adelaide is stealing my sunshine, and I don't like it.
Seriously, it's meant to be 35 degrees and soaring above.
Yet here I am in a beanie and faux fur vest.
Stupid global issues. Sort yourself out already.
Give me sunshine greedy.
Am I being greedy? No way, I just want a tan.

STONED.

Beautiful. words cannot describe.
Label: "Billy Bride" (google it now)
I have learnt the name, and love whatever it means if this is what it is all about.
Give me one, give me all.
Is it too late for the christmas list?
All the stones give you some sort of power - I just love a good piece of rock.

Enjoy the weekend... one week closer to FC comes with gifts.

JEWEL.TONES

Dark berry red, plum, emerald green, sapphire blue and deep purple.
I love jewel colours and the colours of my christmas tree.
Dress: Natalie Wood for Something Else
(I think it was attempting to be a Josh Goot/Dion Lee-a-like)
Bag contents: Forever New bag, Ted Baker Wallet, Clinque bronzer and MAC blusher
Assorted rings from my pretty friends and a to-die-for khaki Marc by Marc Jacobs bag which I want to steal
And my tree... super pretty.

Christmas shopping this week - my favourite week of the year
(because spending money isn't frowned upon)
The cricket was so much fun with the girls, unfortunately, I didn't snag as many shots as I would have liked due to rain forcing us undercover where the light was as bad as if I were to be standing in the middle of a long tunnel.
Christmas frivolities coming up however. Super dooper excited. Turkeys are currently quaking in their boots, cherries are being rapidly yanked off trees and the stores are getting packed with angry shoppers. Oh, I love December.

"Jog On"
So here we are, it's Summertime, and quite frankly it is a relief to get into my Maxi dresses and out of my biker boots.
The only thing is, while the weather is getting warmer, I seem to be working whenever the sun comes out to play - so currently I am 2/10 on the tanning scale.

Warning: do not apply fake tan if you wish to achieve a real tan (I discovered a few years ago in the sunny Port Douglas that this does not work as when the fake tan washes off... so does your el naturale tan).

Well, cricket is just around the corner and this year it's the Ashes. I couldn't be more excited to sit down and have a pimms with cucumber sticks (and watch some men play with a bat and ball).
All I need now is a new wardrobe and I'll be good to go.
I am hoping that I can find a high and mighty pair of wedges also, as we all know you need comfort for these sporting occasions.
Let's just hope that there is a lot of whats seen above (Austraila getting men out) like there was when I took this shot against India. Everyone seems to have more fun when you're winning.

Backstage photo of Bambi Northwood-Blyth. Oh my Lord, those eyebrows. So adorable.
This is my favourite shot of the day. And yes, I am finally the owner of an eyebrow pencil. Hello bushy eyebrows thanks to Estee Lauder. Let's hope they look like Bambi, not some weird character from Sesame Street.

MARY.KATE.FOR.PRESIDENT

The favourite of the two. No doubts about it MK.

I think I just cried a little bit. MK you are flawless in fur, jewels and antlers.
Marie Claire well done. This is amazing, I repeat amazing. Found these cuties on wearehandsome.com/blog
They are newbees on the swimwear scene (Sydney siders), and Tyra Banks is having a field day with them, wearing them on two covers of her magazine already.
Love the faded red zip up one piece with David Bowie-esque images.

Perhaps the new Nookie? We'll let the crowded beaches in Summer tell.

STUCK.IN.A.RUTT

Hell no. This girl isn't stuck in a rutt. Rachel Rutt is bursting through the fashion world with a bang. Despite her normally soft angelic look, she is easily made up to look fierce and piercing on the runway. Rosemount Fashion Week 2010 saw Rachel Rutt storming the runway for many shows, and shes already filling the pages of Oyster, Grazia and other International magazines. There is a wave of new models coming through at the moment, and she is definitely one to keep your eye on.
I'm thinking the next Gemma Ward. Not to put any pressure on her, but she's already nailing the New York runways, starred in Vogue Italia and has walked in over 18 shows at Rosemount Fashion Week including for Australian designers Romance was Born and Carla Zampatti. I think this is the definition of 'It' model if I've ever heard it.
Stuck in a rutt. I think not.

So effing cool. A girl that can rock long hair and a cropped boy style bob has my vote hands down.

AUSTRALIAN.IDOL

Oh, Christine.

I can't begin to describe how cool Christine Centenera is. All I can say is, she is my Australian Idol. Forget Guy Sebastian, Forget the one that came after him who was a pack a day smoker, Forget Ricki Lee. This is where it's at. Harper's Bazaar Fashion Editor, and the style to back up her claim to fame. She always looks as if she's just thrown together an outfit (which she probably has with all her knowledge and assumably the largest wardrobe known to mankind), but she always looks chic, never tacky, never a wrong move in the clothing department. A dream job I must say, but I can't imagine too many jobs like this floating around just waiting to be filled. People claw each other over these jobs, and let's face it, I'm currently not the 'clawing' type. I do realise that perhaps I need to start with these fierce and aggressive traits in order to get into the fashion industry, but I am going to attempt the professional way first. If all else fails, pull a Anne Hathaway when she starts to get bitchy in 'The Devil wears Prada.'

xS

Effortlessly cool. I wonder if she's going to retire anytime soon... doubtful. Seriously hopeful, but doubtful. I really want those pants in the third image which semi look like track pants but definitely are not trackpants and look comfy as hell. Who can wear semi trackpants and make them look cool...Christine Centenera raise your hand.

DOE.A.DEER

Well well well. Bambi could tell me to wear a potato sack and if it looked semi amazing on her (which it would probably look like Prada) I would buy it in an instant. I am pretty sure I can't say no to things that Bambi wears. And I can't stop saying Bambi because it's such a freaking cool name, so I appologise in advance for the high use of her name.
My next purchase, and I better be able to find it has not only been modelled by Tallulah Morton in the Maurie and Eve lookbook, but is seen in the first image of Bambi (there's that name again). A shirt, plain and simple. But the american flag just sells this for me. It screams 'wear me with denim cut off shorts or skinny leg jeans, wear me as a overdress in summer.' Multiple uses = exactly what I need right now.
I am so happy also with my maurie and eve grey wedges, I will post photos soon. But so comfy and high, almost alien like shoe boot. I don't think I am selling them as well as Bambi sells the clothes she wears but just wait until you see them.
PS - Stephanie Cherry (another young gun in the modelling scene) has shot the Supre tights advertising. Not sure how keen I am on models appearing on the runway stooping to shooting videos for stores like Supre but hey, she still looks pretty. I guess that's the main thing.
PPS - I am trying to toss up names for who will be the Seafolly model this year? Following Miranda Kerr, Jess Hart and Pania Roses of the world, it better be someone swell. I hope it's someone like Ruby Jean Wilson (totally the second on my list to Bambi at the moment), someone young and fresh who is just breaking into the scene. I just love when all the swimwear campaigns start appearing as the weather starts to change.

Sorry for the lack of posts recently also, university + spare time = doesn't exist.
Hope you're enjoying the sun on this rare sunny sunday.

GIRLS.ON.FILM

Fashion meets Film.
A short film by non other than Karl Lagerfeld himself. I love this, but it hasn't had positive reviews from everyone. Really, there is no story line but hey, when Abbey Lee, Freja, Karl Lagerfeld and the rest of the gang are dancing around, I don't care if there is no story line. How do I get to this club and where is it? It looks like paradise.
This blog cuts out a bit of the subtitles etc, so type it in from Youtube for the full experience. I think it's worth it. Let me know what you think. I think stick to fashion, but an odd film here and there will never hurt. Especially when your star cast are a set of beauties.

SOPHOMORE.RADNESS

Dirk Diggler meets a young Madonna.

SOPHOMORE NYC.

This is the shit. I am so excited this is now in Adelaide. Currently available at The New Guard and soon to be at LAX. The vibe is like American Apparel, yet it doesn't seem so mass produced. I don't know, it's strange. It's such simple clothing but yet it's so appealing. Potentially that could just be the way they shot the lookbook, which in that case, thumbs up to the stylist and photographer.
It's like 80's meets trailer-park (in a good way - if that's possible) Anyway, I just can't wait until the weather gets warmer and those denim shorts are hitting the shelves because I want in. And that denim vest that guy is wearing, throw that in too.
A week today and I will be 21. Anti-wrinkle cream here I come.

CRUSHING.ON.BAMBI

Bam Bam Bambi.

My new addiction. Stef Bambi Northwood-blyth. Bushy eyebrows + dark features = winner winner winner. RUSSH have shot her in this gorgeous shoot 'Stoned' from their last edition. Who would have thought I would want to draw on eyebrows darker than I already have. Seriously natural and gorgeous. Represented by Priscilla's model management as Bambi, because let's face it, it's a cooler name than Stef, and getting a cover on Harper's Bazaar, she is heading high and has barely got her foot in the door. Lucky girl. Eyebrow pencil anyone?

Sorry for the serious lack in posts, have been seriously busy. Got to help out at a photoshoot last week for Attitude Magazine at GANG hairdressers and had a ball looking at cool guys clothing, side slicked hair and geek chic glasses. Fun fun. Wait to check it out on June 3 when it hits fashion shops around Adelaide.

T.FOR.TERRY

What a legend. Terry Richardson, the man behind those large old school glasses and the camera lense. What a freak of nature, capturing the most beautiful, sexual and timeless shots in history. Whether it's for GQ, French Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, snapping Kayne West, Tom Ford and the fashion King Karl Lagerfeld, I can't get enough of his shots.
Sure, he may look like a scary uncle but hell, you can't deny the man does photography like no other. Terry Richardson is a god, who makes everyone or anything look magical. He's got the touch and he's got a number of fans so get in line. You don't shake the Presidents hand for nothing.
